Boys Basketball

Our 8th grade team finished 7-3 and lost to Fenton in the championship game. Our head coach was Lloyd Hodge, and assistant coach Mike Brown. Our players this year were point guards Jeff Hodge and Jared Swanson, shooting guard Matt Jacobs, small forward Kellen Riker, power forward Daniel Meissner, and center Joey Brown. During playoffs we lost one man and gain two seventh graders: Andrew Dunkel and Colton Korhonen. They got to the playoffs and played St. Pius. Daniel scored a tip in with one second left to tie the game and send it to overtime. They won in O.T. They then played the undefeated St. Johns Gold team. They Started off great and at the end they won a fantastic game by four points. They took a break after that and then played the other St. Johns team. They stuck with them the whole time, but they lost by four at the end of regulation. They may have not won the championship, but they did get second place and proved everyone, except themselves, when they got to the championship. Thanks for an amazing year in basketball.
